Embryo Transfer Unit
SION's Embryo Transfer program operates as part of the Israeli national breeding program.
Under this program, SION's team collaborates with the dairy farmers to choose the best donor cows for flushing.
Embryo transfer allows one superior cow to produce a greater number of heifers, than normal, during her lifetime.
This can increase the rate of genetic improvement in the herd. The multiple Embryos flushed from the donor cow, can be frozen for later use, or can be transplanted immediately into the recipient cow/heifer.
